Risk to exports from a lack of resources

The estimated production for the 2020/2021 campaign is some 3% higher than the previous year according to AEFA (the Spanish Association of Dehydrated Alfalfa Producers) / ALFALFA SPAIN.

Production in Spain is led by the autonomous region of Aragon, followed by Catalonia, Castile-León and Castile La Mancha.

Since the pandemic hit, the dehydrated fodder industry has been warning about the difficulties it is having to trade its products on the international scene. This situation is not just affecting international trade in dried fodders, rather its impact is being felt by all exporters throughout Spain and Europe.
